It’s evident the owners have thought about the guest experience. Excellent way-finding and signage. The room was VERY clean, to every corner in the room. Climate control was easy to adjust and accurate. The mini fridge was ‘dorm-sized’ and included a freezer – great touch for bringing home UP treats. Breakfast was ‘full’ in by my standard. Waffles, eggs, sausage, and a fancy coffee machine which included ‘bold’ and ‘regular’ decaf. Q: Who does that? A: A host who thinks about the guest experience. The hot tub was oversized, poured concrete and clean. I didn’t go in the sauna. Even the ice machines are clearly marked and conveniently located. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our visit to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The room itself was a bit small, but clean and with a comfortable bed. The front desk clerk was very friendly upon our arrival and there was plenty of parking. The breakfast though was average at best. The other negative we found was, during the off-season, the hotel was not very responsive to emails, which is inexcusable in 2024.

We thought this hotel was a great find and offered a great value. Staff was very friendly and helpful for our short stay as we passed through UP. The room was clean we were less than 10 minutes to the docks where we caught our evening cruise to Painted Rocks.

NorthStar was one of 5 hotels we used for our recent vacation. Northstar provided the best beds and best amenities. My favorite jacket was left behind. (oh NO!). When we notified the hotel, yes they have it and they will gladly send it on. (We are 400 miles away). The jacket was recieved today neatly folded in the UPS box. Such joy opening the box, thinking my favorite jacket (bought for me by MY Love) has been returned.

Newly updated, clean, friendly staff! G at the front desk is very helpful, always working with a smile on his face! Big, clean, hot whirlpool to use after a day of hiking local trails. There is an elevator, albeit small, to get to the second floor. Free breakfast in the morning, that G keeps fully stocked and hot!!!

I looked at the reviews before booking and it was majority great reviews minus a few bad ones, well online friends THIS PLACE WAS VERY CLEAN, GREAT LOCATION, LOVE THE WHIRLPOOL,AND MARIE AT THE FRONT DEST WAS A TREAT. They are serious about check in time and rules. Ill be returning FOR SURE 👍 THANKS MUNISING!

Our room was quiet and clean and the price was very reasonable. Very nice hot breakfast and the gentleman at the front desk was extremely personable and genuinely wanted his guests to have a great stay. The North Star is 5 star with us! Definitely will recommend the North Star to any family members or friends who will be visiting Munising.

Hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Desk service was excellent. Someone was always there and very personable. Hot breakfast on a Wednesday morning was a wonderful treat. Close to everything in Munising. We would definitely stay here again.

Checked in very late. They called to make sure we were on our way. Very accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Room clean and stocked. Great parking for UTV. And the hot tub was very nice after a full day of riding. Nice continental breakfast. Well done North Star.
